D.A.R.K. Dam Amateur Radio Klub

With the affiliation now under our belt, we can look into becoming an LLC and then go for our 501 (c) (3) status!  During our next meeting, we will be discussing our special event schedule for 2019!  Good start D.A.R.K.lings!

As we all know, living in the great state of Missouri can be a challenge when it comes to inclement weather and meetings.  To align with the new BC ARES policy, D.A.R.K. meetings will be conducted via a phone conference dial-in system for the months of January and February.  We will make a decision on March’s meeting as it draws closer and we have a better idea of how the weather is acting at that time.

Once we have settled on a (FREE) conferencing service, we will email the information to existing members.

At the November meeting tomorrow, we will be discussing the December Christmas Party and meeting, along with the next steps for D.A.R.K.  We will also be discussing the first broadcast from one of the four dams in our area in the Spring. 

I have submitted our proposal to the US Army Corps of Engineers to determine if there are any rules and regulations we need to adhere to when operating near their dams.  I will be following up with them over the next few months to get their permission to work with them for special event stations during key dates regarding their dams.
